Asus invented the Netbook genre of low cost, low power but highly popular notebook computers. However, after the decidedly humble beginnings of the original Eee PC701, Engadget China reported that Asus will launch the EeeKeyboard in June.

It was first seen in CES 2009 and Gizmodo has some excellent pictures of how it looks like and how it is supposed to work. It’s really crazy when a brand name takes off and a company starts flooding a whole bunch of products with it on their labels. Asus has released no less than 20 Eee products since the taking off of the netbook genre and they include multiple Netbooks, a few Nettops and even an All-in-One touchscreen computer.

However, we really think this concept of a wireless computer integrated under the hood of a slim keyboard could really take off. Imagine using the 5 inch screen to chat using IMs while watching television and using the wireless HDMI to switch over to using the HDTV screen during a commercial/ad break in between shows to surf the web and even to do some word processing whilst using the aforementioned touch screen as a mouse now. It will indeed be the ultimate HTPC for a wirelessly connected home. Really brilliant.

Now, what’s next Asus? EeeMug? EeeLunchbox? Heh.
