As in every Geeking101 article, we give you our take on the 101 ways to attain true Geekhood. This week’s Geeking101 is about Memes and Geekspeek(speak) that only Geeks understand.

In online IM conversations, especially those of the geeky sort, mentions of Memes appear fairly often. However, for sustained period in the past and probably at least in sporadic spurts in the future, Zero Wing’s hilarious opening cutscene will always remain part of the conversations of geeks. With the European and American Versions of Zero Wing being rushed for release back in 1989. Featuring such hilarious dialogue such as “Move Zig” , “Somebody set up us the bomb” and “You have no chance to survive make your time”, Zero Wing was memorable for gamers looking for a good laugh back then. However, this opening scene will not simply die with the times but instead exploded into a phenomenon as it was rediscovered in 1999 and fans made multiple dubs of the scene. Zero Wing shall remain part of many’s fond memories and jokes for years to come yet.
