googlemail_logo_nobeta1

So I logged into my Gmail account yesterday, and I felt something was different. Frantically searching through my inbox and outbox, nothing was deleted. Was it some new feature? I could not find it. Even if it was a new feature it did not bug me like it is doing now. Perhaps it was just me. Burying that tingling sense, I proceeded to see my appointments for the day. The moment I went into Google Calendar, I knew something’s definitely not right. But, WHAT WAS IT?! It was then that I looked at the logo. I saw it, I stared at it and I knew things will never be the same again.

Google mail, and all Google Apps are now officially out of it’s seeming perpetual Beta.

Having a Gmail account since early in the days of its invite-only beta, I felt like my child has finally grown up. Immediately I felt a pang of nostalgia. The days when I bugged my friend until he gave me an invite to Gmail. I remembered being so excited about the 2gb of space to store mails. My friend and I would trade songs and videos and pictures to one another, not only because we wanted to, but because we COULD. Gmail was my personal email revolution.

Still, I wished I have just a bit of the past back, if only to reminisce about the good ol’ days. Then I read from the Gmail Blog that I can put the “beta” back into the logo. Aah.. all is good and well…

The above rambling was just to announce that Gmail and all Google Apps are now no longer in beta and that it is still possible to have the old logo back.

I was invited in Gmail back then too! I was so happy. Never used all that space though. It is true though, that i have never deleted anything.

Their moto “never delete an email again” came out to be true!

Gmail offers better email services than my own ISP whom i PAY!
