
A ramen noodle shop in central Japan has two robotic arms that serve as chefs. These robots, created by Mr Nagoya, can cook a bowl of hot steaming ramen within one minute and forty seconds. My word! That’s even faster than 2-minute Maggi noodles!
…when the shop is slow the robots entertain customer by pretending to battle one in another in a sort of sword and shield battle.
Each bow of soup costs $7, so while popular the store is far from profitable due to the costs incurred due to research and development of the robot arms.
With this technology, gone are the days when you are worried about chefs inconspicuously sneezing in the wrong direction during food preparation. Now, if only the local Bak Chor Mee uncles could afford to import these robotic arms…
