Dear Readers and Friends,

Thanks for supporting GeekStrike and if you have not noticed, we have done a site revamp which we hope would serve you and your eyes a lil bit better. Do continue to support us as we bring you the latest and the quirkiest in Tech, Gaming and Asian Geek Lifestyle and Culture. Thanks to you, GeekStrike has generated more than 10,000 visits in only 1 month of existence.

We will also be be ramping up our selected 4 features and releasing them in episodes. They are namely,
1) RetroStrike will look into games of the past 2 decades beginning with the NES and we hope it will reignite your fire as it has with us replaying the games we loved so much when we were kids. The first two episodes has already been released so do check them out by clicking on the RetroStrike link above!

2) FilmStrike will look into popular movies and films past and present from the latest blockbuster to black and white classics. We have already released episode 1 so do check it out!

3) GeekWare features popular free and open source software that are competitive with typical software that you gotta pay for. We help you, the consumer decide better by trying out these softwares and giving our take on it.

4) Last but by no chance the least, would be Geeking101, Geeking101 will showcase the 101 ways of what we feel being a Geek is about, expect some hilarious features as we explore the different ways of being geeky in the world today. If you have something ubergeeky you wanna share, do let us know!

We will also start a Video of the Day segment in our sidebar as we look to scour the web for many interesting videos for your viewing.

Boys love to drive. Be it trucks, giant robots, racing cars, motorbikes, we once dreamt of being at the helm of them all. One of our greatest fantasies is to of course, piloting a fighter jet and shooting down our enemies before coming home to meet a hot girlfriend, Top Gun style. While the “coming home to our hot girlfriend” part has not been adequately replicated in videogames yet, shoot-em-ups have been a staple of videogames since its inception. In fact, one of the earliest videogames is a shoot-em-up, Spacewar. This week, we take a look at the popular vertical shooter 1942.
