Wow.. Just wow..

Today’s monitor and television landscape is littered with dozens of formats both abandoned and in use. That makes it totally confusing for end-consumers to decide what format they really want for their study or hall. SVGA+, WXVGA and many more other such abbreviations is making it impossible for anyone to actually know and remember what they really mean. In coming up with HD-Ready and Full HD, the manufacturers have came up with a pretty easy to remember and efficient way of educating consumers. However….. NEC has announced it’s CRV43 42.8 inch LCD TV which boasts resolutions of 2880×900 and features a curve in the display to further immerse you in the viewing experience… but.. do we really need another format for our current display landscape?

Looks like it’s not only NEC, but Alienware who is actually first in on the action as well. Flash back to CES 2008 and here is the lovely Veronica Belmont, then Co-Host for Mahalo Daily introducing Alienware’s prototype curved display on Crysis.

I’m not sure about you but it’s a lil too cramped narrow for me but I am sure there are many who will fork out many a pretty penny for what is admittedly very nice and sleek industrial design.
